Exceptional French Art Nouveau Dining Table by Eugène Gaillard for Maison Bing in 1900.
An outstanding and rare antique dining table from the golden age of Art Nouveau, designed by the renowned French master Eugène Gaillard. This elegant piece perfectly embodies the organic, flowing aesthetics of the period.
Crafted from richly figured wood, the tabletop displays a stunning flame grain with a beautifully composed veneer pattern, as visible in the photos. The warm, deep tones and high-quality finish give the table a luxurious presence from every angle.
The base is a true sculptural highlight: four uniquely shaped arches flow gracefully beneath the tabletop, converging into a central support. These curved, almost plant-like forms are characteristic of Gaillard’s work.
Soft, fluid, and inspired by nature. The 4 tables legs are also richly carved and finish with the typical art nouveau shapes. The craftsmanship is refined and harmonious throughout.
The table extends from 160 cm (approx. 63 inches) to an impressive 300 cm (approx. 118 inches), making it ideal for both intimate dining and larger gatherings. The extension mechanism is solid and practical, seamlessly integrating with the design. The extra extendable leaves are not included wich is often the case with antique tables. 2 old veneer repairs have been performed on the table top see close ups.
However these are very minor and are not obvious to the eye.
