This unique piece is distinguished by the combination of its clean, classical design and the attractive texture of the aged, bleached oak.

The oak body, traditionally made in stud construction, features side panelling with a slightly projecting poplar top and fluted pilasters that terminate in round, tapered turned legs. Three drawers which fronts are carved in relief with garland motifs, as well as an acanthus frieze, in an ornamental and panel-like style. The back panel consists of 4 boards fastened with hand-forged nails.

Ready for use, with age-related signs of wear including minor damage, visible repairs and old woodworm tunnels (not active!). The top panel and mouldings have been replaced over time with poplar wood, and wooden knobs have been added.

The wood has been stripped of its dark surface finish, carefully sanded and bleached, so that the texture of the old oak wood is revealed in a light colour and without any sealant. See less
