* "the berlin caricaturist and press illustrator heinz schmidt-berg (1911–1993) studied under max kaus, nikolaus sagrekow, and hans orlowski, to whom he evidently remained closely connected throughout his life. Schmidt-berg's first drawing appeared in "ulk" in 1930, and from then on he published regularly in "koralle," "ente," and "rote post." after the war, he contributed to "kurier," "telegraf," "bz," and others.
