This pair of chairs feature heavy, polished chrome steel frame and original leather upholstery in a beautiful shade of pale cream with tufted buttons and cowhide belting leather straps. Original stitched "Knoll" branded fabric covers on underside of each seat cushion.

The iconic Bauhaus Barcelona chair originally designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich in 1929 for the Barcelona Pavillion exhibits “functional minimalism” and epitomizes early 20th century modernism. The Barcelona chair combines elegant design with premium materials, exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. CONDITION
Very good vintage condition and appearance with wear consistent with age and use. Minor wear to leather upholstery expected with typical use over time including faint scattered scratches, as well as some rubbing to leather piping edges. Leather straps show some general dryness and wear along edges with the appearance of minor repairs to a few straps. One broken attaching strap and backrest cushion to one example shows partial tear to area around one securing snap. Backrest cushions have taken curve of backrest frame over time, but when in place sit as expected.
