A handsome and impressively scaled example of American Empire period decorative furniture, this substantial mahogany and gold leaf ogee hall mirror commands attention with the bold architectural presence and rich material combination that defines the Empire style at its most confident and satisfying. The deeply coved ogee moulded frame is veneered in warm, richly figured mahogany and accented throughout with gold leaf trim — a classic and luxurious American Empire combination that speaks to the ambitions of both maker and original patron.
