Walnut with gorgeous grain and finish. Drop leaf on the right. Finished back with stretcher and tapered legs. 4 aluminum stars. Approximately 29” T, 23” deep, and 44” wide (58” with drop leaf extended). A beautiful work horse.

Designed by Merton Gershun, a seminal MCM furniture designer: “His designs sought many influences, from designing furniture to make small spaces seem large, to influences in French and Asian culture, and his use of many types of materials, elm, walnut, birch, plastic, and porcelain. Notably his most recognized line, Dania by American of Martinsville, was once the best-selling furniture line in the world.”

This is an heirloom quality desk. Was completely refinished about 5 years ago and then manhandled by movers. There is some discoloration and scratches at top, deeper scratches on the drop leaf, and two areas where paint was scraped onto the piece. I don’t know if these could be cleaned and buffed but I think the scratches on the drop leaf may require sanding and refinishing. There is a rear corner that the movers puttied but did not finish. I have tried to photograph the damage and can send more photos upon request. Structurally sound with smooth drawers and drop leaf. Priced accordingly.

I have a matching, shelved side table with the same stars posted. Would look great next to this desk.
