Inventor of the so-called "pop cuisine," based on simplicity and humble raw materials, oldani has designed this collection of four containers with shapes inspired by nature, both practical and symbolic. The pumpkin-shaped container is available in three colors: chalk, gray, and cobalt. Material: glossy glazed ceramic. Colors: chalk, gray, and cobalt. Structure: each piece consists of a container and its lid. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor, laptop, tablet, and phone screen has a different capability to display colors and that everyone sees these colors differently. We try to edit our photos to show all of our products as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual color may vary slightly from your monitor. Taac by davide oldani, creator of cucina pop and a student of renowned chef gualtiero marchesi, is a metaphorical reinterpretation of the meaning of seasonality at the table, expressed through objects inspired by nature and the flavors that enrich our daily lives. The collection consists of four glazed ceramic containers in the shapes of pumpkin, onion, asparagus, and cockerel, available in three colors: chalk, gray, and cobalt. These four elements elevate the very meaning of the ingredient through sensoriality. Each piece in the collection, composed of a container whose lid—a cloche—reveals the recipe with the flavors of the table, is the icon of a season and suggests its use. The objects are functional but also decorative, suitable for use in the kitchen, at the table, or in the living room. About the designer: davide oldani, creator of cucina pop (pop cuisine)—high quality and accessible—opened his restaurant, d’o, in 2003 in his hometown of cornaredo, in the province of milan. After a year of operation, the most authoritative food guides ranked him among the great chefs of italian cuisine. He received several awards, including a michelin star in 2004 and the ambrogino d’oro from the city of milan in 2008. In 2013, he was invited to harvard to share his entrepreneurial experience following a case study on his restaurant published in the harvard business school review. In may 2014, he opened the davide oldani cafè—in the new luxury piazza within milan's malpensa airport. He has published several books, including cuoco andata e ritorno (2008), le d’onne lo sanno (2018), mangia come parli (july 2020), and pop food (2021) paperback editions by feltrinelli. In 2016 he inaugurated his new d’o, an evolution of the previous one, to be able to create a “larger” cuisine, capable of competing with other cuisines in our country and beyond. In november 2020, the michelin guide awarded him the second star for 2021 and the michelin green star, a symbol of sustainability. His work as a designer, born from the daily observation of guests, reflects that of a chef: tables, chairs, plates, cutlery, and glasses are inspired by pop: simple, functional, elegant.
