This coat rack from France, is made of turned wood, and hand-carved, with a superb, ''faux bamboo'' effect, with 4 pegs (hooks.) These kinds of coat racks were commonly found in French bistros, at the time.

The carved pegs are beautiful and very useful; their shape will perfectly match the shape of any coat, jacket or hat when hung.

In good, overall, original and vintage condition, with a beautiful patina of time. Some light signs, marks of age and previous usage commensurate with time, as can be expected on the overall structure (see photos), as well as a patina of time on the overall piece (see photos.). Old marks of woodworm but the piece has been treated. Although some of the pegs are not entirely aligned with one another, this does not affect the overall functionality of the rack (see photos.) All 4 pegs are solid and sturdy. The second peg from the left, has slight signs of previous usage on one edge (see photos), but again, nothing that affects being able to hang anything on it.

There are two hooks on the piece, enabling one to easily affix it to a wall (see photos.) Screws not included.

Piece has only been gently cleaned , oiled and waxed, to preserve the beautiful, original, patina of time.

Both a great looking and useful piece of rustic, vintage décor, to compliment any given space, whether placed in an entryway, mudroom, bedroom, bathroom, etc.
