This 18th century antique elm coffer features a silhouette characterized by three upper drawers and a spacious two-door cabinet. Each drawer is embellished with hand-carved foliate motifs and original iron ring pulls and scrolling side spandrels. The central doors open to an interior with a fixed shelf. A heavily distressed black lacquer finish covers the exterior, allowing the natural wood grain and historic patina to surface. This provincial piece serves as a functional and decorative statement, perfectly suited for use as an entryway console or a unique sideboard in a living space.
