Vintage Italian Iron Mirror with Oak Tree Leaves Shaped Sunburst Braiding Detail Around the Mirror's Frame
We bought this mirror in 1997 from Hadley Antiques in New York. A reputable antiques dealer.
We were told it came from an Italian church.
The bursts in this mirror are unique and very interesting. They are shaped I believe as Oak tree leaves.
The sun bursts have the original patina. In some areas of the gilded bursts the gilding it slightly worn due to aging. That is how it was when we bought it. We liked that it was not bright gold. The mirror is delicately framed with braiding and wavy detailing.
We have taken very good care of it. We have only dusted it when needed.
It has a round hook on the back. Please look at the pictures I took of the back. The round mirror has a couple of age marks. I have put that in my pictures.
We do not know when it was made. We think it was probably late 20th century but we do not know for sure.
