A magnificent example of vintage Chinese export porcelain, this grand-scale floor vase was originally purchased from a specialized Chinese antique shop in the early 1970s. Standing nearly 40 inches tall on its custom pedestal, it serves as a commanding statement piece for a grand entry, library, or living space.
The vase features the traditional "Flowers and Birds" (Huaniao) motif, with central panels depicting pairs of pheasants amidst blooming peonies—classic symbols of prosperity and high status. The artistry is complemented by molded Foo Dog (Guardian Lion) handles at the neck and applied Chilong dragons at the shoulders. It is accompanied by its original, beautifully carved five-legged hardwood pedestal in a deep rosewood finish.
