A stunning piece of American history, this late 1800s staved wood bucket features a coveted, authentic blue-wash patina. A rare find for the Americana/ primitive collector, this 9" x 10" staved sugar bucket. The surface has softened over a century into a ghostly, "starved" patina most vibrant in the protected grain and around the base. It features a rare highly coveted "Pantry Blue" wash finish. This original mineral-pigment patina has aged beautifully, allowing the natural, oxidized wood grain to subtend the color—a "look" highly sought after by serious primitive and coastal collectors.

Construction & Detail:
The bucket features honest, hand-fitted coopering secured by original bentwood hoops and a singular integrated tab handle. The base shows authentic "shelf wear" consistent with 19th-century origin.

Condition: Excellent antique condition. Structurally sound with a beautiful, untouched dry surface. Original blue wash shows beautiful, authentic wear.
