Teak armchair with woven rattan seat and back. Designed by Arne Hovmand-Olsen, 1950s.
The "300" armchair, designed by Arne Hovmand-Olsen and produced by A.R. Klingenberg in the 1950s, is a mature expression of Danish modernism. The teak frame, with its flowing, sculpted lines, highlights the high quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail typical of Nordic production of the period. The rattan seat and backrest have been restored respecting the original weave, preserving the overall formal and material balance. The light proportions and carefully considered inclination create a comfortable seat, a synthesis of the pursuit of aesthetics and functionality typical of postwar Danish design.
