This charming 18th century Country French secretary desk captures the quiet elegance and practical beauty that have made provincial furniture so enduring. Handcrafted with a warm, time-softened patina out of old-growth indigenous oak, it features a slant-front lid that opens to reveal a convenient writing surface, while the single drawer, scalloped apron, and turned legs lend it the honest character of the period. Created to last for generation after generation, it is compact in scale yet highly functional, and is beautifully suited for today’s way of living. It's ideal for a laptop or small writing area, then easily closed to keep everything tucked neatly away when not in use, being less than 18" deep so as to maintain maximum ease of traffic flow through the room.
