This impressive and unique large vintage beaded Kuba royal head mask from the Congo is crafted from wood, cloth, and raffia, adorned with beaded geometric patterns and cowrie shells. Created by the Kuba people, it was traditionally worn during ceremonial events and initiation rites, symbolizing Woot, a supernatural figure credited with naming animals and bringing civilization. Known as the "Children of Woot," the Kuba believed the masked dancer was accompanied by guardians, as the mask itself lacks eye holes. Measuring approximately 15" high, 16" wide, and 27" deep,
