A rare and elegant set of four beautiful and elegantly curved Art Nouveau coat hooks by Adolf Loos, produced in Vienna around 1910. These hooks embody the architect’s celebrated rejection of superfluous ornament in favor of pure, functional beauty. Designed circa 1916 by Adolf Loos (1870 - 1933) for the Jugendstil Café Capua in Vienna.
Each hook is crafted in nickel-plated brass with a gently curved double‑arm form, offering both utility and sculptural clarity. The clean lines, balanced proportions, and subtle detailing reflect the transition from late‑Secessionist decoration toward the restrained, rational elegance championed by Loos. Their warm, aged patina enhances the authenticity and historic character of the set.
Originally intended for for the Jugendstil Café Capua in Vienna and refined Viennese interiors; private apartments, offices, or boutique commercial spaces, these hooks remain highly functional while serving as collectible examples of early 20th‑century design history. Mounted together or used individually, they bring a touch of Wiener Moderne sophistication to any contemporary setting. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
