There, together with designer Alberto Liévore and art theorists Norberto Chaves and Oriol Pibernat, he founded the avant-garde collective "Berenguer"—named after the square of the same name in Barcelona. In 1984, Pensi opened his own studio in Barcelona, ​​where he has since worked on developing innovative aluminum furniture. In 1988, Jorge Pensi presented the Toledo aluminum chair. The design caused a sensation in the design world and brought the designer international acclaim.
