A magnificent 'Giverny' vase designed by René Lalique (1860-1945), the most celebrated glass artist of the Art Deco period, standing 11” tall, this piece was
reintroduced by Lalique in the mid-1970s and retired in 2008.
This 11” tall vase was purchased in Paris in 1977 and kept in excellent condition by the owner for almost 50 years.
Its classic baluster form with circumferential water lily design executed in high relief with contrasting satin-finish and polished crystal glass represents French Art Deco glass art at its finest.
The incised signature 'Lalique ® France” is on the bottom, along with the original sticker with model # 125000.
The large form of this Lalique Champs-Élysées style Giverny vase offers a statement piece with a substantial, sculptural presence.
Named after the village of Giverny, home Claude Monet's famous gardens, this piece embodies the timeless elegance and naturalistic beauty that made Lalique's work legendary.
This vase is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or professional repairs. Faint scratches on the underside show light shelf wear consistent with age. (Flecks in photos in a few places are lint. See photo added of better cleaned area under rim.)
