Wonderful vintage American Modernist dining chairs Custom Folio Three Collection by Henredon 5 side and one armed composed of hardwood … Read more Wonderful vintage American Modernist dining chairs Custom Folio Three Collection by Henredon 5 side and one armed composed of hardwood frames with cane inset rectangular backs and fixed T style seat cushions wearing the original cut velvet fabric numbered A-120-60 in moss green, gold and white. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if they have been refinished or restored. Specifically, 2 chairs have had the caning replaced and color matched and the other four have had touch ups and color matched. Some minor fabric wear on welting. There aren’t many vintage pieces as HANDSOME as HENREDON!!!! And these dining chairs are no exception to that rule!!! This is a FANTASTIC set of six Custom Folio Three Collection dining chairs by Henredon consisting of five side and one armed chair composed of handsome hardwood frames with straight tapered wood front legs, splayed back legs that extend up and create the side rails of the distinctive high rectangular backs holding lovely cane inset backs, wonderful wrap around aprons, and they are wearing their original cut velvet fabric numbered A-21-60 in marvelous colors of moss green, gorgeous gold, and striking white upon their fixed T style seat cushions. The five side chairs bear a unique low carved out decorative design on their sides where the single armchair bears swooped down carved arms with pointed, straight arm fronts. During our research on the Custom Folio Three Collection, we discovered that typically this line was produced using walnut, chestnut, and pecan wood but we couldn’t be positive as to which wood these frames are composed, so we’ll leave that to your imagination or expertise!! We are calling these American Modernist in style, but they would go beautifully with many styles of décor with their hints of Chinoiserie, Mid-Century Modern, Campaign, and Modern aesthetic flairs. They will be fabulous surrounding your dining or kitchen table, at the office around the conference table, in a waiting area, or utilized as extra seating in any room. Limitless… FABULOUS possibilities!

Henredon Furniture Company was founded in 1945 in Morganton, North Carolina by four Drexel Heritage executives; T. Henry Wilson, Ralph Edwards, Donnell VanOppen, and Sterling Collet. The name Henredon is a combination of their names. These four men were determined to build furniture of custom exceptional quality, and their original offering was only three chests. Through the years they engaged with well-known designers to create their unique and fine furniture with iconic names such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Ralph Lauren, Dorothy Draper, and Laura Ashley. The company changed ownership several times throughout the years, eventually becoming Heritage Home Group (HHG) in 1986. Then, the original manufacturing operations in North Carolina effectively ceased the brand name around 2013. Following that, HHG, the last parent company under the original model filed bankruptcy in 2018 and the brand name was purchased by Authentic Brands Group (ABG.) While no longer in production, Henredon furnishings are highly sought after superior vintage pieces today.
