Exceptional quality and condition antique tramp art box, c.1880
A large scale box with a hinged top and standing on lion paw feet. Profusely decorated on all surfaces. The top has a stepped section with mirrors on all four sides topped with a carved organic leaf motif. The main body has geometric carved pyramidal sections, brass lion heads and stars to the corners. This is repeated on the sides and back. The front has carved hands in a handshake. On the sides are two metal carrying handles. The interior has been re-lined in brown felt. Good overall antique condition with all pieces intact.
