Vintage landscape oil painting on canvas after Peter Paul Rubens. The painting depicts a scene from his country estate, Het Steen, during a late summer afternoon. The scene famously shows a large Rainbow after a storm. Baroque wood frame.
The painting has a panoramic scope, using strong diagonals and a color transition from warm browns in the foreground to greens in the middle distance and blue-grays in the background to create depth.
Various figures are present, including a rider on horseback, milkmaids with cows, lush trees, and geese / ducks.
Peter Paul Rubens (Flemish, 1577–1640). Originally painted around 1636. The original masterpiece is housed in the Wallace Collection in London.
