A rare original guest list from the SS Mariposa, issued for her 1938 voyage from San Francisco to Hawaii under the Matson Lines’ famed “White Fleet.” Launched in 1931, the SS Mariposa was one of the most luxurious ocean liners of her era, representing the height of Pacific travel during the Golden Age of steamship cruising.
This beautifully printed guest list documents the ship’s elegant pre-war passenger service connecting California and the Hawaiian Islands, a route celebrated for its refined hospitality, island glamour, and Art Deco sophistication. The SS Mariposa later served with distinction as a World War II troopship before being renamed SS Homeric in 1953.
