This is a painted ceramic vase produced by roseville in the usa: the clematis line was introduced by roseville pottery in the late 1930s, and the "clematis" motif on a turquoise blue background is considered one of the most iconic of roseville's production from that period.
the vase has a textured body with a turquoise blue glaze (the "ciel blue" of the clematis line) and two integrated side handles at the top.
it features a raised floral motif with large white clematis flowers with yellow centers, accompanied by green climbing leaves.
the bottom of the vase features an embossed "roseville usa" mark and the model number (110-9), confirming the vase's authenticity. The roseville model 110-9 is a double-handled vase with an elegant, slender shape. The "110" identifies the design, while the "9" indicates the height of approximately 9 inches (23 cm).
the number "110-9" and the embossed "usa" on the bottom are typical of roseville industrial production from the 1930s onward, when shapes became more geometric, handles became angular, and the first bright colors appeared.
