Produced by Ferlaro Ceramiche in Parma during the 1970s, the piece reflects the refined craftsmanship of one of Emilia’s historic ceramic workshops, active since the 1930s and known for its entirely hand-finished production. The form unfolds asymmetrically, with a dynamic, flowing silhouette that recalls a seashell or natural erosion shaped by water and time. The exterior is articulated by soft, rhythmic ridges, while the interior opens into a wide, luminous basin. The surface is finished in a rich metallic golden glaze, highly reflective and almost liquid in appearance. Subtle tonal variations and depth in the glaze create a vibrant interplay of light, enhancing the sculptural quality of the piece. Raised on three small integrated feet, the object appears to float slightly above the surface, reinforcing its lightness despite the generous scale. Signed on the underside (see photo), consistent with Ferlaro production of the period. A highly decorative yet versatile object — ideal as a centerpiece, fruit bowl, or purely sculptural element. Condition Very good vintage condition, with light signs of age and use, including minor wear to the glaze as visible in the photos. No structural damage. See less
