The horizontal grain across the drawer fronts enhances its clean, linear aesthetic, while the warm colour variation gives the piece depth and character. In exceptional restored condition rarely found on the market today.

this piece has been professionally restored to an excellent standard—carefully stripped of its original finish, fully sanded, and refinished with three coats of osmo polyx oil. This high-quality oil and wax finish penetrates the wood to protect from within while enhancing the natural grain, leaving a durable, water-resistant surface with a beautifully natural, satin sheen—far superior to modern varnishes or lacquers. Please note: whilst water-resistant, we recommend the use of coasters and mats to protect the surface and maintain its condition over time. It presents in excellent condition, with a smooth, even finish that highlights the natural beauty of the teak.

the configuration is both practical and elegant. Centrally positioned are three graduated drawers of varying depths, all running smoothly and solidly. The top drawer is designed as a cutlery drawer and is partially felt-lined — a thoughtful and useful detail. The inset solid teak handles are understated yet sculptural, perfectly embodying mid-century modern design with their streamlined, integrated form.

flanking the drawers are two spacious cupboards, each fitted with an internal shelf, providing generous and versatile storage. Raised on classic tapered mid-century legs, the sideboard has a light visual footprint while remaining sturdy and well-balanced.

importantly, the piece retains its original blue nathan label, confirming its quality and authenticity, and also carries a grange of london label. Nathan furniture was one of britain’s most respected post-war cabinet makers, known for its high standards of construction, carefully selected teak veneers, and enduring mid-century designs. Grange of london was a well-regarded retailer associated with quality furnishings, and the presence of both labels adds to the provenance and desirability of the piece.
