The signature and seal read “Nakajima Kayo,” and it is dated: "Spring 1861". Nakajima Kayo was a painter from Shogoin-mura, Kyoto, and is known to have studied under Yokoyama Kazan. Masterfully painted. Very detailed. Watercolor and ink on silk over paper. Beautifully mounted on silk. Bone roller ends. Paper on back. Excellent to Very Good condition - some age wear, minor foxing, clean. This scroll can be trimmed and framed.
