Rockingham ware, a type of earthenware, is distinguished by its distinctive mottled brown glaze, often exhibiting amber or yellow undertones, originating in England in the early 19th century. Its appeal lay in its decorative qualities and affordability, frequently adorning jugs and pitchers. This example with its original lid I believe is harder to find.
This pitcher exhibits both floral and animali. An elaborate molded decoration.. Small old chip shown in the last picture. Hard to see as the chip has aged with the piece.
The measurements in height were taken without the lid which is 3” tall.
