A hand-blown pink glass spill vase by Mdina, made in Malta during the early 1980s. Compact in scale, it features a slender tubular body with a wide flared lip—simple in form, yet expressive in finish. The glass is worked in a vivid pink palette, with mottled tones of rose and subdued magenta suspended within clear casing. This colourway is unusually vibrant for Mdina, whose work from the period more often favoured coastal blues and earthier tones. Here, the pink forms an organic, almost tortoiseshell pattern, introducing depth and visual movement to an otherwise restrained silhouette. Signed ‘Mdina’ to the base, the vase measures approximately 13 cm in height and 6.5 cm in diameter. It remains in very good vintage condition with light signs of use. A carefully balanced example of late 20th-century Maltese art glass, reflecting Mdina’s continued experimentation with colour, form, and transparency. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
