This … Read more A rare signed Mdina Glass vase from Malta, dated 1979, exemplifying the studio’s bold aesthetic during its formative years. This decorative squat bottle vase is worked in the celebrated ‘Ming’ pattern, with swirling bands of turquoise blue and deep green glass layered over a base of sparkling golden ochre. The colours twist upward in irregular spirals around the rotund body, forming a richly tactile surface that captures the light beautifully. This form—low, broad, and full-bodied—is less commonly encountered, particularly in this scale. Measuring 16.5 cm in both height and diameter, it’s a commanding example of vintage Mdina glass. The vase is fully signed and dated to the base, offering provenance that will appeal to collectors of 20th-century glass and British studio glass traditions, given Mdina’s early ties to Michael Harris. Condition is very good, with only minor wear to the underside as expected from a piece of this period. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
