The vases exemplify the period’s organic modernism and interest in sculptural repetition, with a hooped, segmented profile reminiscent of bamboo or stacked architectural forms. Each vase features three rounded protrusions that introduce a strong rhythmic cadence to the otherwise cylindrical silhouette. The design language recalls Scandinavian mid-century glassmaking of the late 1960s and 1970s, particularly the geometric stacking and subdued tonal palettes associated with Tamara Aladin’s work for Riihimäen Lasi. While no firm attribution can be made, the influence is evident in both proportion and material treatment. The warm, graduated smoked-brown hue is characteristic of the era, and the quality of manufacture—polished rims and neatly finished, flat-ground pontils—suggests export-grade art glass rather than utilitarian production. Both vases are in very good vintage condition, showing only light wear consistent with age and use. One vase presents a minute fleabite to the rim, likely originating from the manufacturing process; it is extremely subtle and mentioned for accuracy. Dimensions (each): Height: approximately 7.1 in (18 cm) Diameter: approximately 3.1 in (8 cm) Quietly sculptural and well-balanced, this pair is well suited to collectors of mid-century European glass and complements both modernist and contemporary interiors.
