An elegant Royal Worcester porcelain figure of a bonneted woman, produced circa 1920. The model exemplifies the factory’s restrained approach in its later cabinet-scale figures.
The pose is composed and understated, with a slight inclination of the head and a controlled stance. This reflects the stylistic shift in Worcester production toward quiet decorative presence.
The dress is ornamented with finely spaced floral sprigs in purple and pink tones, allowing the ivory ground to remain visible. Gilding is used sparingly, confined to delicate linear accents.
The modelling is precise, with minimal undercutting and a smooth transition into the base. The tree stump functions as a discreet structural support.
The underside shows a puce printed Royal Worcester England mark with star device and dot system, consistent with circa 1920, though partly obscured.
Such figures are valued for their refined modelling and restrained decorative character within early 20th-century Worcester production.
