A Royal Worcester porcelain figure of a dancing woman from the established “Grecian Maiden” series, model 1827, dating to circa 1928. The design originates from the Hadley period and remained popular in later production. The figure is shown holding castanets (krotala), with a pose referencing Spanish dance and flamenco, while maintaining a classical Worcester composition.
The modelling is characterised by flowing lines and controlled asymmetry, creating a natural silhouette.
The surface features a grey-toned pearlescent glaze with subtle blue transitions, producing a refined luminous effect. Gilding is used sparingly to accent the form.
The underside bears a puce Royal Worcester mark and model number 1827, reflecting a transitional marking phase.
A well-balanced and attractive example of this recognised Worcester model.
