This green blown glass pedestal vase by Vetro Verde di Empoli, produced in Italy circa the 1950s, demonstrates a fluid mid-century approach to form shaped directly through the glassblowing process. The composition combines a circular, tapered pedestal base with an elongated, fan-shaped vessel above. The body is formed from translucent green glass, with gentle tonal variation and slight irregularities inherent to mouth-blown production. The rim is subtly asymmetrical, and the oval opening flares outward, giving the vase a sense of movement and lightness. The transition from pedestal to bowl is smoothly integrated, reinforcing the continuous, hand-worked quality of the piece. The underside retains an unpolished pontil mark, consistent with traditional glassblowing techniques and indicative of its method of manufacture. Condition is very good for its age, with no chips or structural damage. There is minor surface wear and visible firing-related irregularities, typical of hand-blown glass of this period. Dimensions: height 24 cm (9.45 in), width 19 cm (7.48 in), length 10 cm (3.94 in). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
