A distinctive mid-century wall unit from the former Czechoslovakia. Designed by František Jirák for Tatra Nábytok in the 1960s. Crafted from a combination of oak veneer with a satin-gloss lacquer finish and solid beech wood uprights. Thanks to its modular system, this practical cabinet is multifunctional and adaptable. The system consists of 3 uprights for the lower sections and 2 for the upper ones. These accommodate the modular elements, each 95 centimeters wide. Specifically, a desk with two drawers, a display cabinet with sliding glass doors, a shelf with drawers below it, and a closed cabinet with sliding doors. The desk top is 52 centimeters deep, and the bottom of the drawers is 63 centimeters from the floor. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
