A striking and sculptural pair of rattan tables attributed to Danish designer Henning Korch, executed in Italy during the 1970s—a period where Scandinavian restraint met Mediterranean craftsmanship in some of the most compelling natural material design of the century.
Defined by their fluid, almost architectural silhouette, these pieces move beyond conventional side tables. The continuous bent rattan silhouette creates a soft, modernist geometry, while the tightly woven surfaces add texture, warmth, and exceptional material depth. The integrated lower shelf enhances both function and visual balance, making them equally suitable as bedside tables, side tables, or compact occasional tables in a curated interior.
There is a quiet confidence to these forms—minimal yet expressive—where the craftsmanship speaks louder than ornament. The Italian production is evident in the precision of the weave and the richness of the honey-toned patina, developed beautifully over time.
Works attributed to Henning Korch are increasingly sought after for their ability to bridge Nordic modernism with organic materiality, and this pair is a particularly refined example—versatile, sculptural, and highly usable.
Measuring 60 cm (23.62 in) in length, 50 cm (19.69 in) in height and 28 cm (11.02 in) in depth, they offer a compact yet practical footprint ideal for both residential and interior design projects.
Presented in very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use. Minor signs of use in the rattan, adding to the authentic character without detracting from the overall appearance. The tables are very robust thanks to having steel tube frames. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
