This rare and evocative religious sculpture depicting the figure of the Good Shepherd is a fine example of twentieth-century sacred sculpture, ideal for enhancing a niche, a home altar, or a refined private devotional collection.

Subject and Style: The statue depicts Jesus wrapped in a light-colored tunic and a flowing ruby-red cloak. He tenderly holds a lamb to his chest while holding his pastoral staff in the other hand, lovingly accompanied by two other sheep at his feet. The modeling is classical and expressive, enhanced by a vivid painting that gives three-dimensionality to the drapes and intensity to the face.

Material and Finish: The work is crafted from a heavy and solid resin composite, carefully hand-painted to simulate traditional wooden sculpture. The figure stands on a naturalistic base reproducing rocky terrain, which is in turn mounted on an elegant molded faux-wood base. The base is finished with a scratch-resistant black velvet cloth to protect furniture.
