Each piece is unique, handmade, signed, and dated. with his new series of tripod stools in solid black-stained ash, Maxime Goléo has created pieces where sculpture meets design. The wood, hand-carved and then intensely blackened, reveals an almost graphic grain. Supported by three thick, root-like legs, the stools feature a curved seat, punctuated by an oculus that lightens the mass and creates a visual rhythm. Conceived as objects that are both functional and expressive, they invite both use and contemplation.
