Dating from the mid-20th century modern period, this box and mechanical cigarette dispenser are the result of an Italian patent, as evidenced by the internal engraving. It remains in working condition, and the patent was in the process of being registered in the United States during the 1950s.
Produced by “L. M & C.” — a company known by its initials, though its full name remains unidentified — it features an internal structure in anodized aluminum with an attractive golden finish. Covered in fine brown leather, it allows, thanks to a concealed button, a cigarette to rise from the box each time the lid is pressed. In working order and in good vintage condition, it recalls in both style and materials the elegant creations of Jacques Adnet. See less
