Art Deco Brass Torchère Floor Lamp, circa 1925–1935
A cut above the typical Art Deco torchère. The stem — three solid brass (?) rods united by precisely machined ribbed collars — speaks to a level of engineering and finish that sets this lamp apart from most examples of the period. The wide trumpet shade sits on a substantial ebonized base, giving the piece an assured, well-proportioned silhouette.
Particularly notable is the adjustable diffuser, allowing light to be directed toward the wall rather than purely upward — a thoughtful detail that adds real versatility. The lamp is in fully original condition, with the honest patina and minor bumps of a century of use. Nothing replaced, nothing polished back.
