The frame is made of solid turned wood, featuring tapered legs connected by simple crossbars and a slightly curved frame. The seat is handwoven from natural rush fiber in a traditional pattern. The piece is finished with a patina of varnish that gives the surface an aged and uniform appearance. Etymologically, this type of rustic, handcrafted seat is colloquially known in Spanish vernacular furniture as a "taburete de tajo," referring to its traditional utilitarian origin. See less
