This coat rack from France, is made of turned wood beech, and hand-carved with a superb, ''faux bamboo'' effect, with 6 pegs (hooks.) and a warm honey oak color finish. These kinds of coat racks were commonly found in French bistros, in the 30's - 40's

The carved pegs are fantastic and very useful; their shape will perfectly match the shape of any coat, jacket or hat when hung.

In very good, overall, original and vintage condition for a piece of this age, with a beautiful patina of time. Some light signs, marks of age and previous usage commensurate with age and time (see photos.) as well as patina of time and a few old marks of woodworm but piece has been treated. Coat rack has a very slight bent but barely noticeable once hang. ( see photos)

There are two hooks at the back of the piece, to enable one to affix it to a wall, (see photos.) Screws not included.

Piece has been gently cleaned, oiled with flaxseed oil, and waxed, to preserve and with respect to the beautiful, original, patina of time.

A true conversation piece in a rather unusual color and size.
Both a great looking and useful piece, it will definitely be an eye catcher of whether for a rustic contemporary or vintage décor, to compliment any given space, should it be placed in an entryway, mudroom, bedroom, bathroom or other.
