Rare goldscheider ceramic figurine of the 1920s: seated dancer with chin-length curly hair, wearing a plain blue sleeveless top and … Read more Rare goldscheider ceramic figurine of the 1920s: seated dancer with chin-length curly hair, wearing a plain blue sleeveless top and matching skirt with fan-like pleats on both sides and highly decorative embellishments: divided into segments by fine golden yellow lines, filled with large blue, green and lilac colour fields, modelled on butterfly wings, skirt divided in the middle at the front, revealing the young dancer's crossed legs, on which she has placed her hands, looking to her right. On a round cream-coloured base with grey-shaded curved sides, signature 'laurenzl' on the right-hand side under the skirt. Designed by josef lorenzl (1892 - 1950), one of the most important designers who worked for the goldscheider manufactory in the period of 1920 - 1940. Created and made circa 1926.
