Murano glass floor lamp attributable to Barovier & Toso, made in Italy between the 1930s and 1940s. Elegant specimen belonging to the refined Murano production of the period, characterized by a structure made entirely of blown and hot-molded glass. The central stem, made of teal-colored glass, features rigadin work with vertical grooves, typical of the Venetian tradition, giving optical depth and vibrant interaction with light. The base consists of four arched curved glass elements, configured into a multiple structure with a strong sculptural impact, less common than the more common tripod versions documented in the market. The whole expresses the transitional formal language between late Deco and early Italian modernism. A less common structural configuration distinguishes this specimen from the more common tripod versions on the market. The structure is complemented by brass elements with consistent patina, which complement and support the whole with balance. Of particular note is the presence of engraved numbering on the metal elements, indicative of organized production and an original modular assembly system. The base features an articulated construction with separable elements (3+1 configuration), designed for ease of assembly and maintenance, a feature found in high-end Murano productions of the period.
By typological characteristics, quality of execution and comparison with documented specimens on the international market, the lamp is attributable to Barovier & Toso. Similar specimens, generally in tripod configuration and amber hue, are known from specialized galleries, confirming that they belong to a consistent production line. Glass in a teal shade represents a less common variant than the more popular versions, contributing to greater visual freshness and versatility in contemporary settings. Original patina brass. Glass in very good condition with no obvious cracks. Overhauled electrical system. A specimen with great stage presence, ideal for sophisticated interiors, interior design projects or collections dedicated to early 20th-century Murano glass.
