We’ve always loved how simple, but well-built these chairs are and have collected a number of them. We bought this particular one as a project and went through the entire chair, piece by piece, every screw replaced and tightened. All of the brass hardware was professionally polished. For the upholstery, we worked with a master upholsterer here in Miami and selected a fabric from Dedar (ICHI-GO ICHI-E, T25027, Col. 001 cobalto). It’s a bold pattern, and gives the chair a fresh feel without taking away from the original design.

Now the chair feels exactly how it should—both modern and classic. It’s a sculptural piece that also folds easily for storing.
