A very fine and rare, exceptionally executed formal Sheraton style mahogany chest of drawers dating to the late 19th century.
The finest English or American Sheraton chest we've seen. Large scale, excellent presentation, finished in rich, lustrous mahogany, with outstanding warmth, depth, and superb grain detailing.
Having a rectangular serpentine shaped top, over conforming undulating case, fitted with three drawers, each with hand cut dovetail joinery, silver-tone metal pulls and escutcheon, flanked by smooth rounded corners, above scalloped apron, rising on tapered turned legs. Circa 1880
