Hand-carved from a single solid plank of 19th-century teak, this 47-inch lintel is defined by its rich, dark brown patinated finish. This deep chocolate hue is the result of over a century of natural oxidation and traditional oiling, which has settled into the recesses of the carving to create a dramatic sense of movement and shadow play. The relief work features a continuous, rhythmic vine and floral scroll that reflects the traditional Mughal influence found in the Havelis of North India. At its center, a square-carved focal block remains, complete with its original hand-forged iron hardware. The contrast between the dark, lustrous timber and the rustic iron makes this a particularly striking piece for a Rustic Modern or Global Industrial space. It is an ideal architectural anchor for use as a mantel-top sculpture or a sophisticated header above a library doorway. As an authentic architectural salvage piece, "The Cacao Lintel" is presented in its Original Antique Condition. It carries the beautiful, rugged soul of 19th-century timber, featuring a deep matte patina, softened carving details, and natural grain variations that serve as an immutable record of its historical provenance.
