Mid-century studio pottery vessel, hand-thrown in stoneware with applied loop handles and a faceted body. The glaze is applied in vertical bands of iron brown and soft ivory, with visible brushwork and variation from the firing process. The base is unglazed and shows an incised maker’s mark.
The form and surface treatment reflect studio pottery practices of the 1960s–70s, when American makers were working under strong Japanese influence, favoring simple forms, natural materials, and restrained glazing over decorative production ware.
A functional vessel with a sculptural profile, suitable for dried stems or as a standalone piece.
