A stunning matched pair of vintage ceramic elephant garden stools by Wen Hing Ceramics, Made in Taiwan. These impressive Hollywood Regency-style pieces date to the 1960s–1980s and are richly decorated in a polychrome glaze featuring white, gold, burgundy, and teal — hallmarks of the era's finest export ceramics.
Each elephant is depicted in full ceremonial caparison, adorned with an ornate saddle blanket, decorative tassels, harness, and gilded toenails. The flat square top features a raised medallion with the Chinese 'shou' (longevity) character surrounded by a scrolling cloud border, with Greek key banding at the edges. The back of the elephant displays the Chinese 'fu' (good fortune) character on both the saddle and the neck column.
The pair faces opposite directions, making them perfect as flanking pieces beside a sofa, fireplace, entryway, or as side tables. Original Wen Hing Ceramics maker's label intact on one piece.
