Even with a few “scratch & dings”, it is breathtaking & could easily be restored to perfection by someone who has more time than I.
The wood. The red leather topper. The name plate with the date. It’s historical. It’s inspiring. It’s magical. It will make you famous.
It makes me think of authors, executives…good Scotch. It has presence and is an amazing conversation piece. It literally smells like an old historic library.

I think it’s brilliant. VERY “J. Peterman could also have also been writing here” vibes.
Needs a bit of TLC and buffing.
Research indicates it was released in the mid 1980’s. It was acquired from the estate of a local collector who was also a gentleman & a scholar.

The Harden Sleepy Hollow Collection Washington Irving Desk is a high-quality vintage reproduction piece manufactured by Harden Furniture. It is modeled after the original desk used by the famous American author, produced in collaboration with Sleepy Hollow Restorations, the organization that manages Irving's historic home, Sunnyside, in New York.
Key Features:
Commemorative Plaque: The back portion of the desk features an engraved plaque that reads: "Washington Irving from His Publishers Feb. 22nd 1856".

Construction: Crafted primarily from solid cherry wood, a signature material for Harden Furniture.

Top: Features an authentic leather inlay writing surface.

Design: A "partner desk" style, though typically only one side has functional drawers while the other side features faux drawer fronts.
