A striking hand-formed terracotta bird effigy vessel in the tradition of Mexican folk art pottery, marked "Mexico" with number 019 in red on the underside — a hallmark consistent with Tonalá, Jalisco region export pieces. The bird's bold sculptural form features a prominent curved beak, detailed spiral eye, rounded body, and an open hollow tail spout, suggesting use as a decorative vessel or ceremonial pouring piece.
The rich, unglazed burnished clay surface in warm terracotta tones with natural dark mottling reflects the hand-crafted character typical of mid-20th century Mexican folk pottery. A wonderful example of primitive Mexican ceramic art with pre-Columbian influence.
Perfect for: collectors of Mexican folk art, boho and eclectic home decor, vintage pottery displays, shelf styling, and global artisan decor.
